Follow the on screen instruction to install java on Mojave. Delete Old Version of Java or Uninstall Java on MacOS Mojave. Delete the installed file of Java is really hard to compare to windows PC. On Mac, we need to care all the Plugins copied in Mac’s file system. Java 1.8 for mac mojave. /usr/libexec/javahome is not a directory but an executable. It outputs the currently configured JAVAHOME and doesn't actually change it. That's what the Java Preferences app is for, which in my case seems broken and doesn't actually change the JVM correctly. Use /usr/libexec/javahome -v 1.8 command on a terminal shell to figure out where is your Java 1.8 home directory. If you just want to find out the home directory of your most recent version of Java, omit the version.
- Open the App Store app on your Mac.
- Search the App Store for macOS Sierra, or go directly to the macOS Sierra page.
- Click the Download button on the macOS Sierra page. A file named Install macOS Sierra downloads to your Applications folder.
- After download is complete, Install macOS Sierra opens automatically. (You can also open it from the Applications folder, Launchpad, or Spotlight.) Click Continue and follow the onscreen instructions.
